My name is Janneke den Otter and I’m 25 years old. I’m a nutritional coach and certified Personal Trainer. My previous education at the Radboud University about mental health and child developmental psychology has provided me with quite some knowledge about psychology and coaching. This combination helps me to guide my clients both on a mental and physical level. My vision is that a person’s physical and mental wellbeing are intertwined and improving one leads to improving the other. My personal goal is to help people feel better about themselves and to become happy with who they are and what they look like. We train many types of people, such as children, people with injuries, elder people and different sportspeople (soccer players, horseriders an tennis players). Also people with mental health problems, such as burn-out symptoms, anxiety or depression come to us for help, quite a challenge but the more satisfying when they show progress in their self-esteem. The past two years we focused mainly on horseriders. Providing them with nutritional advice is my responsibility and of course I also spend a lot of time training them. I’m also responsible for teaching our Equistrian Vitality Coach education classes. I love the diversity in our jobs and wouldn’t want to do anything else. I can’t wait for the new challenges and adventures we’re going to face, bring it on!

My name is Garry Abbas and I’m 33 years old. I’m a certified Personal Trainer with a lot of experience in sports. As a youngster, I used to be a soccer player at professional clubs such as Vitesse Arnhem and AGOVV in Apeldoorn (both Dutch soccerclubs). I spent many hours doing strength and conditioning exercises to improve my soccer skills. This made me both mentally and physically stronger, both as a sportsman as a human being.

After my soccer carreer I wanted to become a Personal Trainer and Group Trainer for individuals, sportsclubs, enterprises and organizations. I used the past ten years to specialize myself on these areas. I have experienced that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and always tried to work with partners with experience and professionalism on different areas. This has led to our current focus on the equestrian sport. Collaborations with parties such as Dressage Stable Van Baalen, the KNHS and Outdoor Gelderland have brought us to where we are now. We surrounded ourselves with a professional network so we can optimize our services and skills to a maximum level. We will continue to improve ourselves and collect as much knowledge as possible from our partners so we can continue to serve horseriders all over the world with a professional, all round and durable lifestyle program.

Cees Onink

My name is Cees Onink, 47 years old, born and raised in Rhenen. I still enjoy living there.

In daily life I am active as a Freelance Project Manager in the world of Global Events such as the Olympic Games or the World Cup.

One Switch and I first met in 2018 in the gym where they were active as personal trainers at the time.

Since then, I operate as a sounding board and consultant mainly behind the scenes and enjoy the energy and passion with which Garry and Janneke work every day.

Very proud of the realization of our own location, our training, and the cooperation with the KNHS. We have achieved a lot in a short time, but our ambitions go further.

We are looking forward to it!

Our Story

One Switch meets the equestrian sports!
At the end of 2017 we came into contact with Jacobine van Gijn (Dressage stable Van Baalen) through our enthusiastic friend Glasten Krapels. She invited us for an introduction and wanted to do something extra in terms of movement for staff and talents. After discussing the possibilities, both parties were excited and the first training was scheduled. For us as One Switch, a great challenge to work with such a high-quality organization, not only because quality was required, but also because a completely new world opened up for us; that of equestrian sports. Soon other riders and amazons followed the good example of Dressage Stable Van Baalen. The start of a fantastic new adventure!
